Like the Roman Centurion every LEO has a position of authority. But like the Centurion we read about in scripture its important to realize that Jesus has ultimate authority over our lives. Even at work. There is no place, job, or environment that Jesus cannot work in. He can even work through you while at work. Notice the Centurion admitted that though he had authority, even over 100 men, he was not worthy to have to Jesus come to his home. This showed humility, repentance, and faith in Jesus. Which all 3 are vital to have fellowship with God and thrive spiritually even at work.

This Centurion recognized he not only was under the authority of Caesar but ultimately God. His eyes had been opened to who Christ was and for him ( a centurion) to come and beg Jesus to heal his servant showed much humility and bravery. This battle hardened Centurion, sent from Rome to keep the peace in the Northern most parts of Israel, had heard of the miracles of Jesus whispered amongst his own soldiers, and possibly had even witnessed with his own eyes and heard with his own ears the words that Jesus spoke. Something happened which caused this Roman Commander to believe and recognize Jesus as the ultimate authority in his life and in the world. No matter what you've seen, or how strong you think you are. You must remember, we ultimately answer to the authority of Christ. He can even bring healing at work and use you to minister not just to the public, but to other officers and first responders. Beg God for the spiritual and physical protection of those you work with. Pray for them, tell them about the One who has opened your eyes and who has full authority over you. Jesus marveled at the faith of this Centurion. He can marvel over your faith as well. Remember, you answer to God, serve Him and give Him honor wherever He leads you.

God bless,

Sam

And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him, And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented. And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him. The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed. For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it. When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
